I keep on getting the error "This application requires a version of Adobe Air which cannot be found....."  So i tried downloading from adobe but when i try to install it I get the same message this is driving me craz help pls

I have a product that I sell that installs fine on all except a new customer. After screensharing with him, I see he's running XP. I turn off all anti-virus, I run AIR installer, it says that version already installed on the computer. I then try running my AIR installer and it keeps cycling through needing to install Adobe AIR. The AIR runtime matches my install program (16), I've run as administrator and I'm out of ideas. Thoughts?

Get message "Windows can't find C:\Doc..& Settings\G... \Local...\temp\adobe air installer.exe ..." on occasion.
Does an app using Air initiate this??) The file is present at that location and many others.

I have been unable to update Adobe Air in Windows 8.1with me being the administrator. Error messages indicate that I do not have permission to install the application. Online research tells me that I am not alone and am wondering if it's an Adobe or a Microsoft issue?

I started having major trouble with my Macbook Pro running OS X 10.6.7, after updating Adobe Flash and Air. I want to uninstall both, as a test.

Flash was apparently uninstalled easily. No improvement.

However, when I run the Adobe AIR Uninstaller.app Version 1.5.3 that's in my Utilities folder, I get a screen named "Adobe AIR Setup" telling me

"Sorry, an error has occurred.

An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator."

I am, of course, not trying to install Adobe AIR but to uninstall it. I am working in an Admin account. Can you help?

After an apparently succesfully installation of Adobe Air on a new PC with 64 bit Windows 7 operating system, it doesn't works at all. When I'm trying tu run an Adobe Air application or even the uninstaller of Adobe Air I get the message "This application requires a version of Adobe AIR which cannot be found. Please download..." . I've tried to remove all the registry entries and reinstall Adobe AIR but it didn't solve the problem.

I was having problems installing the recent updates for CS6 and so unistalled the applications, used the Adobe Cleaner Tool (which found no errors) and have been trying to reinstall the programs (from my Adobe Disc) After

I enter the serial number (which Adobe confirmed is correct after I contacted them today) an then the disk is ejected and a message appears that says Adobe can't authenticate the software and that it may be counterfeit.

I contacted Adobe again, but the wait time was approx. 30 to speak to a representative, and each time they hung up on me before they helped me to resolve the problem. 

I've tried reinstalling a couple more times, but have not had any luck. 

Suggestions?

Upon starting my computer I keep getting an error message for Adobe AIR stating, "Application descriptor could not be found for this application. Try re-installing or contacting the publisher for assistance." I have uninstalled and re-installed Adobe AIR THREE times and have restared my computer with each new re-installation. The error message is still showing. Please let me know how to resolve this issue.

I cannot update adobe air on my nook hd, even though I have an old version.  It gives me an error message that I already have that app.  I called adobe and they referred me to the forum.  Please help!

Adobe Air has NEVER installed cleanly on my Win 7 x64 system.  It always says it has installed successfully but then the next screen is

I cleaned out the AIR Install.log file and did a clean install (after having done a registry clean-up -- which actually didn't find anything to clean up).  The install failed again.  This is what is in the Install.log file -- it contains the uninstall and the install.  All I see is an error # 3001.  Any insights would be appreciated.

I've been all over this forum trying all sorts of proposed fixes and still have no luck. Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated.

I cannot update AdobeAir and now pandora will not work. I have been trying to update for months.

There is an unspecified error each time I try.

So now I am trying to uninstall AIR, so I can attempt to reinstall.  I get the same error when I try to uninstall.

I am am the admistrator on my machine - and I have tried to uninstall as administrator. No difference.

I tried to uninstall at the CMD line - no difference.

I am on my work maching - Windows XP Professional Version 2002 - SP3

AIR is version 1.5.3.9130

I've built and depolyed AIR apps before, and never had any problems, but the app I'm working on right now is really causing me some trouble.

I built the app in Flash Builder, and exported it using the 'Export Release Build' dialogue; I chose 'Signed AIR package', everything went fine there. I installed the app to a directory on my desktop, and no errors were thrown during the installation.

Double clicking the .exe file opens the app window momentarily, then it instantly closes without any other errors or exceptions being thrown. I tried opening the included SWF in the Flash debug player, but it stops on an exception like this:

VerifyError: Error #1014: Class flash.events::NativeWindowBoundsEvent could not be found.

Which is just because I'm using an AIR API call that's unsupported by the Flash player.

I've tried using Process Monitor to see if there are any errors when the app starts, but I can't really make all that much sense of what it reports. The only slightly suspect entries were ones with 'NAME NOT FOUND' and 'OPLOCK NOT GRANTED', but there was no info included that gave me any ideas about what is causing the problem.

Anyone any ideas, I'm totally stuck.

We have an internal AIR app, there were some small changes made yesterday so the version number was increased and the application was packaged and uploaded to the server with an updated config XML on the server to match the new version number. Nothing out of the ordinary, and no frameworks were changed. When you launch the old version of the app you get the prompt to update, cool, you click Download Now and get the following

If you point your browser to the URL in the update config xml on the server it downloads the AIR file, then you double click it and it replaces the old version successfully. So it just doesn't work via the ApplicationUpdater UI. It works manually. Why?

Upon opening an appliciation, I'm given the message "Initial content could not be found for this application. Try re-installing or contacting the publisher for assistance". I tried reinstalling but no luck. Any suggestions please?

I have problems with AIR and cannot go forwards or backwards.

According to Windows "Programs and Features" I have AIR 17.0.0.144. But when I try to Uninstall from there, I get

When I try to run an AIR application, I get the same message above about a version of Adobe AIR which cannot be found.

The problem survives reboots.

Is it possible to recommend how I can get out of this state?

First time post.

For some reason Adobe air is not recognised in Windows explorer. When I try to re install it I am told it is already installed.

I tried  an uninstall and there it is.

My difficulty is that an application for I want to use has a download manager from Mercedes that needs Adobe AIR. Each time I try to run it I am told to install Adobe....... this for the umpteenth time.

Please help.
