Can't download Adobe Air?

I'm very computer naive... My daughter has downloaded e-books for school, but we can't access them without Adobe Air.  When I try to download it, the download begins for 1-2 seconds and then the page goes blank - page unavailable.  I've tried disabling firewall but no help.  Would really welcome any help in plain speak please?!

Can't install Adobe Air on Mac OS 10.5.6

Hello all,

I cannot, for the life of me, get Adobe AIR to install on my Mac Pro. Whenever I open the installer I get this message:
quote:

An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator.

I AM, in fact, the administrator of this computer and I'm logged into said account, but I continue to get this error. I made sure to repair my permissions, but of course that proved nothing. Can anyone provide some insight into this? I don't know how to get the installer to log and/or where to find these logs, so help with that would be great too.

Thanks!
Tyler

Information stored in "Adobe.APS" in your keychain message

Hi all,

I've developed an application using Adobe AIR 1.5.3 and am looking into upgrading to AIR 2.0. When I install the AIR 2.0 runtime and try to upgrade an existing AIR 1.5.3 application to a new AIR 2.0 application I get the following message when the application starts:

<AppName> wants to use your confidential information stored in "Adobe.APS" in your keychain.

One of the first things that the application tries to do when it starts is access encrypted local storage (I'm assuming that this is where this message is coming from).

Is there any way to avoid this message when upgrading to AIR 2.0?

Thanks

Sean

Adobe AIR won't install - Windows 7 Ultimate x64

"Sorry, an error has occurred.

An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator."

Well, I asked myself and verified that I am allowed to install any programs I wish to at will.

I even toyed with adding extra permissions for the .exe and shortcut [see below], to no avail.

I also checked your Adobe AIR installation troubleshooter section before posting. Unfortunately, none of the solutions 100% applied to my circumstances or OS, yet I tried a few anyway and had it confirmed by a Windows dialogue that I need not have bothered as it assured me that they weren't applicable in my case.

I found another thread like mine where somebody suggested creating a shortcut with an additional -uninstall parameter added to the .exe path. It didn't work.

I used Microsoft's Installation Cleanup Utility and that didn't work to "un-confuse" the installer either.

Do you have any more suggestions?

Adobe AIR came with the HTC Sync program for my phone, which appears to have dependencies on it where it won't completely work without it.

Thanks in advance for any input.

ps. I created a new thread because I couldn't find the "reply" button on a similarly unresolved thread regarding Adobe AIR installation issues on Windows 7.

Install problem because "install file is damaged"

$

My client is periodically getting the following error on some of their identically configured Win7 machines:

"Sorry, an error has occurred.  The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged.  Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author."

I am the application author.

Here is the install log from a problematic machine:

[2013-01-03:09:50:33] Application Installer begin with version 3.5.0.880 on Windows 7 x86

[2013-01-03:09:50:33] Commandline is: C:\Rate_Calculator\XXX_Air_Files\calc-xxx-rate_0_6_2.air

Here is what I have done:

1) I searched the fourm and found this report with no solution: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/801670

2) I had the client send back the install file and I did a compare with an install file that was successfully installed on my machine; They are identical.

3) The client can specify a different install location to successfully install.

4) Client confirms that they did not install previous installs under a different user or administrator.

5) This problem does not happen on all machines; we do not know what the difference is between the problematic machines and non-problematic machines.

6) The problem began when I delivered 0.6.2 of my app, on the problematic machines they can go back to 0.6.1 and successfully install.

7) I unjared the 0.6.1 and 0.6.2 .air files and compared them.  Nothing unusual was found.

8) The problem went away when I delivered 0.6.3, but reappeared when I delivered 0.6.9.

Cannot update, uninstall or install Adobe AIR

I have a particularly puzzling problem.

AdobeAIR has never allowed me to update it. Ever. I have received countless notifications over the years, but everytime I clicked update, I received an error message. The version I have is 3.7.0.2090. I have attempted updating it to 16.0.0.273 all day. I continually receive this message:

"An error occurred while installing Adobe Air. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator."

I have downloaded the latest version and selected "run as administrator". That didn't work. I tried creating a new administrator account on my pc and then selected "run as administrator" using that account. All to no avail.

I figured I might uninstall the version I have, so opened control panel (I'm running Windows 7, btw) and looked for the application in the Programmes list to uninstall it. However, the app was not listed. Anywhere.

I then found, in these forums, someone had a problem with updating and/or uninstalling and attempted a manual removal of some register keys. So following their instruction, I did that. However the issues and error messages remain unchanged.

I am at a complete loss. I cannot uninstall an app that doesn't exist. But I can't update the version I supposedly have.

Any help with this troubling issue would be most welcome.

Kind regards and desperate pleas...

podge

Edit: I have also tried repairing this problem using MicrosoftFixIt. That did not help.

Never, ever had any problem updating Adobe AIR.  Today for the first time I get this when trying to run the update

then after clicking Update

Is there an install log file somewhere that could help determine what the problem is?

Windows 7 64bit / Sony Vaio laptop.

I am trying to install Adobe Air ver. 19 and it is giving me the following error. I even uninstalled the previous version and ran the installer file as an administrator. Does anyone know how to fix this or is this an issue with Adobe itself?

AIR Application takes 30 minutes to install

My very lightweight air application uses some 300 Megs of pictures and sounds. With the pictures and sounds the installation takes more than 30 minutes. Without them less than one.

Below is the install.log. Even after 30 Minutes, the filesystem isn't even touched yet. Why does the AIR-Installer take so long? How can this be overcome?

Cheers,

Philipp

AIR 3.4.x fails to install on WindowsXP

Hi

We have a proprietary application that uses flex for the gui so we have a .air component to be isntalled on the user's machine. There seems to be an intermittent problem with the installation.

Some machines have AIR v2.6 on them and it is expected that the new 3.4 installer will overwrite the existing version. On 85% of the installs this works fine but on the rest it fails. Our workaround is to uninstall the existing AIR version first and then try the install of our app. This install fails on 5% of attempts but after a few tries and sometimes a PC restart, it works.

Please see the excerpt from the AIR log below from a failed install -

Can't install Adobe AIR on Win 7 x64

Adobe Air has NEVER installed cleanly on my Win 7 x64 system.  It always says it has installed successfully but then the next screen is 10-12-2010 8-45-16 PM.png

I cleaned out the AIR Install.log file and did a clean install (after having done a registry clean-up -- which actually didn't find anything to clean up).  The install failed again.  This is what is in the Install.log file -- it contains the uninstall and the install.  All I see is an error # 3001.  Any insights would be appreciated.

Based on other posts, I had killed the Logitech server processes and turned off the Windows Firewall.  Doing that obviously did not help me.  I've also tried installing Air v2.0.2.12610, as someone else suggested, but that didn't work either.
Thanks . . . . Brian

I cannot update adobe air on my nook hd, even though I have an old version.  It gives me an error message that I already have that app.  I called adobe and they referred me to the forum.  Please help!

It has been working fine before; the BBC iplayer ask me to reinstall Adobe Air recently.

I have manged to uninstall AA from the program list (but not sure if it is done correctly). When I try to reinstall AA, a message state that 'Adobe Air is already installed on your computer'.

How can I make sure that AA is actually uninstall from my computer.

Thanks,

Gordon

Remote installation of Adobe AIR on Apple OS X 10.6.8

Hello all,

I'm attempting to remotely install Adobe AIR via SSH on an Apple OS X machine running 10.6.8 (64-bit) when no users are logged in locally. Let's say I remotely mount the latest dmg released for Adobe AIR using the hdiutil command on the desired host.

hostname:~ ladmin$ hdiutil attach -quiet "AdobeAIR.dmg"

hostname:~ ladmin$ ls -l /Volumes

total 8

drwxr-xr-x@ 3 ladmin  staff  102 Aug  5 13:11 Adobe AIR

lrwxr-xr-x  1 root    admin    1 Aug 18 12:09 Macintosh HD -> /

(Excellent.)

Using this post (http://forums.adobe.com/message/3795207#3795207), I attempted to install Adobe AIR on the OS X system, but I get the following response back. I am not able to Cntrl+C out of the command once the error message appears. I need to Cntrl+Z and kill (-9) the process.

hostname:~ ladmin$ sudo /Volumes/Adobe\ AIR/Adobe\ AIR\ Installer.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe\ AIR\ Installer -silent -eulaAccepted

password:

Mon Aug 22 10:26:25 facula Adobe AIR Installer[34743] <Error>: kCGErrorFailure: Set a breakpoint @ CGErrorBreakpoint() to catch errors as they are logged.

_RegisterApplication(), FAILED TO establish the default connection to the WindowServer, _CGSDefaultConnection() is NULL.

The above command works via SSH when a user is logged in locally (admin or standard user), and it does not interrupt their processes with any prompts. It only seems to fail for machines without users logged in locally at the console.
Is there a work-around for this?
Thanks!
Jonathan
